Marietta van Rooyen (Executive Chair)
Marietta is the founder of Assessment College. She has been involved in education and training all her life, the last ten years in leading the Assessment College. She has been a keen participant in the creation of a new education and training policy for the country. She is:

bullet member of the SAQA Board and EXCO
bullet member of the board of the South African Board of Personal Practices (SABPP)
bullet founder member of the Association of Private Providers of ETD (APPETD)


Marietta has a B.Ed. degree from RAU and is registered at the SABPP as an HRD Practitioner and Mentor.


Gerda Magnus (Managing Director)
Gerda is a member of the SAQA Board and the ETQA Committee of SAQA. She also serves as a member of the Assessor SGB.

She comes from a corporate background where she was involved in a variety of human resource functions but specialising in training and development. After many years of association with the Assessment College, fist as a facilitator and later as Operations and General Manager, she became the Managing Director in 2007.

Gerda has a degree in Industrial Psychology and an Honours Degree in Human Resources Development from RAU.


Darryl McMaster
(Operations Manager)

Darryl has had extensive experience in both Learning and Development and Operations in a variety of industries over the last 15 years ranging from Aviation to the Fitness Industry to Financial Services and Banking.

Darryl is the Operations Manager of Assessment College and as such he is responsible for the smooth running of both our training and consulting divisions. He manages the Learner Administration division where he is ably assisted by Rita Waterson and our administrative staff.

Leon Sinclair (Marketing Manager)
Leon was involved in teacher training for 13 years, including eight years as Senior Head of Department with the SA College for Teacher Education. Since joining the Assessment College, he has been instrumental in signing up the Air Force, Navy and various other large organisations as licensees of the Assessment College.

Leon is a member of the Board of the Association for Private Providers of Education, Training and Development and is ably assisted by Mia de Jager.

Leon has a Masters degree in Education Management.


Craig Winter (Accounts Manager)
Craig Winter's career in education began as a Moderator at the Royal College of Anesthetists in the UK. In 2005 Craig began facilitating; assessing and evaluating ETD registered standards as an associate on behalf of Assessment College. In October 2007 he joined the company as a permanent member of staff. His roles at Assessment College include corporate licensee support, quality assurance and facilitation or assessment of the Assessment College ETD curriculum.

Craig is registered at SACE and the SABPP. He is a registered assessor at the MQA, WRSETA, Services SETA, ETDP SETA Craig currently serves on the SABPP ETQA Committee.Craig has a Diploma in Marketing and Human Resource Management


Lucille Angelonidis (Office Manager)
Lucille has a wealth of experience in the management of managers’ time allocation and office practices. She has proven herself as a high level Personal Assistant to our top managers, including the Executive Chair and the MD. Her multi- skilled abilities and supportive personality makes her invaluable in the day to day running of Assessment College.


Financial Management
Our bookkeeper, Wendy Malan (left), looks after matters such as invoicing, debtors and financial reporting. Mandy Alberts (right) was appointed in 2009 and assists Wendy. We are very glad to have her on board.
